Doesn't look like you're getting much help so I'll give it a go.

I presume you'll be starting off on a twin tip and not a surfboard. You live in NSW so I reckon your average learning wind will be in the 15-20 knot range. I'll pick 2 brands that I used to own - Cabrinha and Slingshot. For your weight and the wind speed I have quoted, you'd probably be better off with a 12m kite. If you decide to go for another brand the sizing may be different. Some brands have 11m kites that are the same as 12m in other brands.

Hope this helps a bit. If you give me some more info on brands you are looking at and your location I may be able to help a bit more.

I am deciding on going with a 12m, either a ozone or a cab. I will be going upto the Gold Coast o the weekend to find one. Been given a few shop names so going to check them first. I appreciate everyone's help.
Now as soon as I buy one I have to get into a few more lessons. That is after my back improves after an injury.
