Thinking about heading down to St. Kilda beach tomorrow morning, but never been out there in a westerly. Can anyone shed some light/ any tips or bits to avoid?

Nah, it's fine. If you can go up wind, just start towards the west of the beach. The air should be cleaner than in a southerly/easterly as it's not bashing against the Marina.

Wasn't too bad. There was a few guys out there. It turned WSW which was a bit too onshore for me as I'm not able to stay upwind.
Still had plenty of fun though, can't wait to get out there again!
