Had my 11m SS octane out today in about 25kts, and had about 4" of depower on. I noticed the kite was significantly slower to turn, which got me into trouble a few times. Is this common to all kites, or specific to this model or kite style?
I'd like to get a smaller kite for windy summer days, and don't want slow steering in the upper end of the wind range.
Cheers

Yep, depowered kites don't like to turn.

Riding the right kite in the right wind is way more fun than riding bigger kites depowered

Most kites don't turn well when depowered. However, Naish Cult, Bolt & Park (I haven't tried other Naishs) still turn well when depowered and loop even with the bar pushed out. Is this almost a Naish trademark or are there other kites that also turn well while depowered ?

If you have to depower to control the power, get a smaller kite. It'll steer right for a start.
