hey breezers
im looking around for a Kite surf board
just hoping for some advice
114 kgs
6 ft tall
I will just ride in 4 ft max waves
40 years old
was wondering if the fire wire vanguard 5'6 would be big enough
does anyone know of a site that does volume calculations for kite surfboards
I've noticed it's big in trad surfing now days
have taken a twin tip out in the waves and loved it
used to surf so know my way around out there

Depends, if you want a light wind board go a 6f2, if you want a agile stronger wind board go a 5f2 ( i wouldn't go less than 5f3 for your weight )if its a fish shape you can get away with a smaller board, if its a long thin board you will need a larger board. as a all round size I would go a 5f8

i have a 5f3 and 5f8 and mostly use the 5f3 88 kgs, for 115kgs go something 5f8 to 6

again it depends on the type of board shape and rocker

FireWire site has the volume calculator but it's more for paddle surfing & probably won't help you much, you could try the FireWire kiteboard forum.

Doubt the 5'6 will quite cut the cheese. What size kite do u use most with the twinnie?

Highly suggest picking up an old goat boat, learn the basics and apply ur surfing background - then choose ur board, as u may want a smaller kite size by then too.
