Hey, Just wondered if anyone has had a go surfing on a kite surf board (without a kite). I've just bought a north nugget, haven't had a go on it yet and am looking at a windless weekend.... What chance do you give me of standing up? I've surfed plenty of times before but never enough to call myself a surfer so I guess that hurts my chances. I'm predicting it'll be like riding a boogie board until I go to stand, it'll be too small and slow to actually stand on it. Thoughts?

We had a customer buy one who swore is was the best best board they had ridden in waist to chest high waves at Wedge Island, give it a go!!
The idea of the board is based on the Firewire sweet potato.

I tried it on my old 6ft north Wam and stood up but the wave just went under me, I don't surf much though so might be doable in more experienced hands.

I love my Sweet Potato and it's my go to summer board for Perth beaches...
I've got a 5' 7" Whip, any idea if it's doable or does the board need to be powered up to ride the waves??

Got a 5'10" whip, I can surf it fine in decent surf. Very stiff! But I'm only 63kg

Cheers for the feedback Andy, I'm 80kg so by the sounds of it I think I would need some pretty solid surf to get the 5' 7" going.. I figured it would probably be a little stiff with it's construction but good to actually hear about it.
