Hi Guys

I'm a beginner and getting my first runs in. I've been looking at kiting in the river but lately a lot of the winds have been southerleys. Mellville and point Walter look more suitable for Easterleys.
Is their anywhere in the river that can be kited in these Southerly winds?

Thanks

Melville is perfect in a southerly. Make sure you go east of the big gum tree if you a newby. Check out the location guide arloj referred to you. Enjoy.

i think you mean north of the big gum tree , if he goes east he'll be kiting in someone's front lawn and we don't want that .
Melville is far from perfect in a southerly .

Southerly is almost cross and gusty . Melville works the best in a sw or nw . Westerly is directly onshore and not recommended at all . Anything with a hint of E in it won't work at melville but will work at Point Walter .

True! Its north of the gum tree. But it is a great spot for a beginner in a typical sea breeze. Perfect may be too strong a word, but it is a good setup.
