Hey guys,
Season is coming up and i would like to progress in my kiteboarding ability. I saw some schools at botany bay and what got my attention was KBL with a boat.
$300 for 3 hours.
Does anyone have any experience with them? How are the instructors?
They have there own boat does that help?
Cheers

i allways thought kiteboarding courses were ruffly $500 everywhere in the world for 6 hours spread over 3 days. (2 hours a day, anymore and students get a little mentally and physically frazzled)

Whoever you go with make sure it is one on one instruction. Some operators have multiple students in a boat and each one only gets limited time in the water.
The guys at Kitepower have good instructors.

I've had three lessons with KBL. The boat is a great idea as they'll take you out in the bay where you can't hit anything ;) and it doesn't really matter which direction the wind blows. I would ask them to take you through launching and landing from the beach and basic beach etiquette. My lessons didn't really prepare me for that (lesson structure may have changed since) as most of the kite lesson is done in the middle of the bay.

3 hours is a long time to maintain focus for a beginner unless you are pretty fit. Boats are great, but 2 hours is long enough and gives you more opportunity to build skills over more sessions. RIBs are also more forgiving for beginners than hardboats. Can't comment on KBL, but had an excellent experience with Kitepower when I started out.

I had two lessons with KP. First one was great, second one in the boat was not. This was a few years ago though, I think (hope) that particular instructor has since left.

I took a couple of lessons with Vit from KBL. I thought he was an excellent instructor.
There were two of us learning so we could take turns practicing/watching.
His jetboat was easy to get back into and his radio helmets were great for keeping us connected.
I was amazed how well he understood what we needed to hear to make progress.

I had 2 lessons with KP, and found them to be excellent. Its important to note the lessons with KP are one on one, where as KBL is a group setting on the boat
I always thought it was better to become confident landing, launching and setting up on a beach - as this is where you will be once your lesson is over.
