Was wondering if any of the North riders can help me out with tuning my bar.
2011 Trust bar for a Fuse.
I followed the manual and it seems the lines were way out!
Tied all 4 lines, put tension on the lines, lines are the same length and the bar was about 5 inches away from the iron heart. Adjusted outside lines to the last knot on bar and the bar is now about a inch from the iron heart so a lot better but the middle lines still need to come in a little bit more, no more adjustment on leader lines for full power at bar touching iron heart as per manual. But maybe not worth worrying about!

Any feed back would be great to sort it out.

Mex, the job you did tuning the bar is actually just perfect. Ask any experienced kiter and they'll say it's preferable to have between 1 and 2 inches of over-sheeting to help prevent the kite from luffing in your jumps (leading edge falling downwards).

It doesn't matter whether it's a North bar or any other, they should all be tuned to about the same settings. By now your front lines have probably stretched as much as they could, but if for whatever reason they keep stretching you will need to either change your lines or put short line extensions at the end of your back lines to compensate.

Hope this helps,

Chris

I always run a tiny bit of depower in light winds as the kite works better when not as stalled. When the wind comes up I power back up as the stronger wind has less effect if the kite is sheeted harder.
But my lines are all the same length in the first place, so you will just have to run a little extra depower

Thanks for the reply guy's.
I was thinking about getting some new inside lines or I thought the main grey line from the pulley might be stretched as well.

Which Australian retailer supplies individual replacement lines for the Quad Trust bar?
Seems you have to buy the full set of lines from the searching I have done.
Front lines and strong grey middle line ( pulley to Y ) is what I am after.

Thanks

Your local North dealer can get individual lines regardless of what they tell you but if the distrib. in AUS doesn't have them you may have to be prepared to wait.

WA Surf has a fair few line spares.

Thanks. I will give them a call.
Can get them overseas with no problem but would rather buy here if I can.

Have you considered making up a pair slightly longer lines that connect to your leader lines under your floats to take up the difference?

Might be a cheaper option if your other lines are still in good condition.

One of my middle lines is longer than the other.
What is the best way to adjust? This is on a Fuse.
Tie another knot on the bridle or tie a knot on the line end.
When I tie the knot on the line end the lines are the same length.

Cheers
