Is the bar able to be used as a standard 4 line bar, and not compromise the depower and safe control?

I have an Ozone Catalayst, very happy and looking to buy a smaller and larger kite for heavy and light winds...

Unfortunately Ozone do not make Cats in sizes that best suit my weight/wind conditions and happy to run Switchblades benefitting from the investment of the bar already held...

Depends on the year of the cabs only the 2014 cabs are designed to work on a single front line safety system.
Really don't understand why you would not keep with ozone cats. As a newb keep all you're kite the same type makes life easier

Fair point... Looking for a lighter wind kite at 13m to give bet range, ozone don't have... Saw 7m 2013 Switch, great condition and price and was told could work on standard 4 line bar....

Will then move to Switchblade when replace cat 10 in future or stay with Ozone if they add 13 to the range

Personal I would go the fourteen. You can have a bigger gap in you light wind kite than you can between your smaller kites. If I was looking for a light wind kite at 75 kgs I would go 17 above my 11 and 7.

Am no expert, but have researched this..

Most, but not all newer kites run an equal line length setup, meaning that with the bar pulled all the way in ( as in fully powered position ) all lines will be the same length. Theoretically, any bar set up for equal line lengths will fly any kite set up for that style of bar. Some bar details will have an impact though. You will want the total throw on the bar to be as great or greater than the kites requirements. Basically, if you run a bar with quite a bit of throw, most kites will be fine. Also look at total trim adjustability range. Again, if the range on the bar is as much or more than what a given kite needs, you will be fine. The is no real rocket science behind it. It's just 4 lines that you gain vary the length relationship of.
There are, however several brands and individual models that have line/bridle setups that are not standard equal length setups. You will either have to fly the matching bar/kite combo, or use custom pigtails on the bridle to compensate for the difference. If you figure out that pigtail length, then you could use a standard bar. Of course, no manufacturer will tell you that.

Most people prefer to use just one style bar and carry a spare so that all parts are interchangeable and be super comfortable with the operation and features.

I think from experience the pigtails are reversed from the Catalyst on the Switch. Hope that helps.
