I'm flying 2012 vegas's and struggling to get any height or rip off the water, I'm loading and popping as I usually do with my previous kites (torch) but I'm not getting height.
Is the Vegas a bit too gentle??? Or is it something I'm doing?

Hello DW.

I had a Vegas, and it was a ripper of a kite. Boosted just as well as a Rebel or Dice and have seen guys at our beloved St. K doing massive boosts on a 2012 model with kite loops... so, I'm not saying it's you... but ... may be the Torch was just 10 x better?

Cheers for the reply SS

So as far as you know its the same technique as any other C? Maybe I'm just not flying it aggressively enough....

I've just bought a ozone edge just to get my big air on when the time calls for it.

Yeah as far as I know, there's nothing special about the Vegas to get air... Mine used to pull like a truck and would happily ping me around as good as any other kite I've had.

Good luck with it.

Anyone know how the Best TS goes in terms of boosting?

The earlier model was great, bar out through the arc then pull the trigger , all performance kites will go big , you've just got to spend some time finding their sweet spots , some take little input and others more so , it's the latter which reward you more in the long run, well that's mho

Dan how heavily worn is your Vegas? Had a well used 12m 2012 and it was gutless. Material detoriation. There is a reason the wings have battens. Try someone elses 2013 or 2014 or demo, totally different story. Might still be technique I agree, but might well be that it's old and spongy.

Hey Russ, to be honest the kite looks like new still except for some fading/wear on the pigtails. But yes my 12m is gutless below 17knots so maybe somehing has stretched.
I recently got the 2012 9m vegas out in 25-30knots and was getting decent height but just nothing like my old torches and they were super old 2007.

I used to get more height on my landboard on the torches than I can on the Vegas.

I've been flying the 11m edge recently which jumps very well I just wish it flies more c like.

Cheers for the help, I may have another go on the 12m today
