Hi, I've been wakeboarding for years until I recently made the switch to kiteboarding. I noticed a lot of people are using full bindings these days like in wakeboarding instead of straps.

Is there any difference between wake boots and kite boots or are they pretty much the same thing? I read an article saying they were different but that article seemed like it was just a load of sales garbage.

I'm currently using straps but being an ex-wakeboarder I much prefer the control and feel of boots so I'm thinking of switching over to boots.

Cheers

They are the same thing and do the same job
That said some of the newer Ronix bindings are better than the binding that came out 10 years ago for kitebaording as they are lighter and your feet are closer to the board

Some kite boards are not suited to binding as the mounting treads do not line up with the mounting plates

Thanks I think I'll have a browse through the Ronix boots. They seem to be really good quality compared to what I used to wakeboard with . The technology in water sports just increases so fast.

Straps are nothing like straps, the amount of control you have over the board is nothing in straps in comparison.
I'm 99% sure all boards are now made with a 6inch spacing on bolts so there is no problem.
If you have a set of boots from your wakeboard give them a go you won't regret it and definitly won't change back.
