Hi All,

I am very new to kitesurfing (having lessons at ATM)

I would like you input on what kite to start off with
I am male and 84kg

I have been looking around and im not sure wether to buy brand new or start with a cheap second hand package then upgrade.

Any help would be great
Thanks

Stick with the tried and tested all round kites - Airush Lithiums, North Rebels, Core XR's. Get cheap second hand gear to get you through the learning curve then demo newer gear once you have the kite dialed in. Kite size will be dependent on wind range/board selection etc.

your local beach is Pinnaroo!
you need to be riding upwind confidently before you attempt Brighton or you could very easily end up washed into the swimmers at Scarborough,
also you should try North Scarborough before you get to Brighton because if you mess up there's a fair way before you hit Trigg,
It's probably also worth noting that you can't kite Brighton while the life savers are there (which is this time of year)

And in regards to your gear,
buy it from a shop, safety is everything when you're learning.
probably an 8m, maybe a 9m. And a twin tip,

Hope you like the taste of salt water

definitely worth looking at the Switchblade. Most popular kite on the market to date, no word describes. Take it for a test run

At your weight with a twin tip I'd go a 10m, not an 8 or 9. I have a slingshot rpm 10m I don't use you can have real cheap, I need to clear some space in the garage. Pm me if you're interested, I'm thinking about $350 or so...
