I have the basics down now, turning, toeside, etc... partial success with jumps. I currently have a massive lightwind board.

Whats a good size board for me now (92kg, 190cm, 12m kite) and possibly brand...

Any advice appreciated
cheers

Hi Jeff. Heaps of info in the search function, but as a general guide for your weight, I'd be looking at 135 ish. Keep your big board for light wind days. There are plenty of brands and models out there. I personally love the Cardboards. Made in QLD by experienced kiters and well priced, check out their website. Also. they're Seabreeze sponsors.

If you plan on keeping your lightwind board then you can afford to go smaller with your new TT. Beginners - even advanced beginners will benefit somewhat by looking at the bigger end of the "right size" range for their 1st board.
Lots of comments here & the beach which only mention "What Length".
This is a bit misleading as the board size is determined by width & length. The board shaping gurus suggest that 1cm width = 4cm length.
So if you went by Burkeyboys advice of a 135 (pretty spot average assessment for your weight) but given the variety of widths different boards come in at 135cm length then you may be well advised consider width when choosing the options.
All brands have tended to go wider in recent years. At 135 you will find brands with widths varying from 40 up to 44. At your weight then 135 x 42 or 43 would be my about my best guess. But given the gurus rule if you were to choose a board at the 40cm width then the equivalent would be 143 or 147 ???
Worth keeeping in mind.

Thanks for the feedback guys... 135cm (or there abouts) it is. Time to start trawling through the Buy & Sell section.

I will be definitely keeping my light wind board, its had a hard life and is a bit battered, but I still love it
