What is the single fin like? How does it ride compared to a twin tip?
Its hard to answer this ? single fin on std tt would achieve nothing but stuffing such board .
In case of MAKO it is just integral part of the whole design, namely massive concave-18mm, big rocker and specific board shape, all that make this board unique and IMHO no other board comes even close when it comes to riding in chop or just comfort of taking long session, by long I mean 3 to 6 hours in one hit, one of the reason for this is the fact that its the only board you ride no back foot heavy in fact you can ride it 50/50 you can easily imagine what it does to your feet and knees during long sess. or heavy chop.
The topic of the best board for riding in chop or messy waves pops quite often on forums, people come with all sort of boards but the fact is all those boards are the same **** with small diffrences that make them more or less suitable to riding in heavy chop but they are all no comparison to the legend of single finb MAKO
