So, I was a fair way out and crashed my kite. As I fell I saw my kite inverting. After quite a while I manage to get the bugger back into the air but the lines were twisted and it took me ages to get back to the beach (big thanks to the people who helped me retrieve my board as I was dragged downwind a fair way).
My question to those in the know is, if this happens again what do I do to make things right without going back in? Or is this a potential self rescue practice opportunity?
Cheers

When ya kite rolls forward and falls out of the sky and then rolls and inverts, best thing to try do as soon as you see it happening is to pull the nearest steering line to which side is falling on....kite might still crash but at least its on the side of the window where you have the best chance of a relaunch.
The cause for your kite falling out of the sky is most likely due to you not re-directing when you jump and land too far down wind causing your lines to go slack.
Also try to keep your kite low when trying to get your feet into your bindings, leaving your kite high and pulling in too much on your bar can stall the kite causing it to fall.
Hope this helps

depends on the kite, You need to unhook and pass bar back the way they came through the center of the front lines. If the front lines are common from the bar for a way this can get messy and pretty dangerous to do in the water and it gets really hard to be 100% sure your going the right way.
I would suggest just to ride back in find a place to land and do it there.
