Hi Guys n Girls
I just wanted to share my experience I had yesterday down at secret bay/ Shoalwater. My missus and I had planned for a day at the beach I told her about this really sweet beach down south (we live in Sorrento), so we packed up the car with kite surfing gear and brought the puppy along too. I started Kite surfing about 6 weeks ago, have being down at Applecross and nowhere else, I liked Applecross because I sort of felt safe there!!!
This may sound dumb but I was a little freaked out about my losing my board while I was out kiting and being out in the drink waiting to be fish food!! Don't mind the losing the board part as I can body drag to it was just the mental thought of the sharks!!
Anyways so I set up, got the missus settled she was happy. A few other kite surfers were already out there which was good. I spend the next 4 hours some of which were the happiest I have had in recent times. I managed to get the hang of going upwind which was such an achievement for me because I was not able to do for ages. Today I am in bits, my body is pain but good pain. Who needs the Gym!!!
My only regret was not getting into kite surfing a few years ago when I had an opportunity too!! So far I have fellow kite surfer's to be really friendly and always willing to give advice and help out.
Right now I am already planning when I can get down to do some more kitesurfing but work keeps getting in the way!!!!!
