Just had my first lesson and i'm hooked! Got up riding in my first lesson (great instructor) and cannot wait until lesson 2. Where has kiteboarding been all my life?? Time to sell all my other toys and gear up for summer!!
I'll start by saying sorry to anyone who is reading this and thinking great, another noob wanting to know about kitesize, boards etc.... I promise, once i've got a few skills and seasons under my belt to help the new generations of beginners coming through!
So i'm 6'2, 80kg's. I've done a lot of wakeboarding/skiing and also sailing 14ft cats so i have the basic idea of how the wind works. I'll be kiteboarding around Sydney as well as Nelson Bay area.
First question - What size kite should I get??
Second question - What size board should I get??
I've done a little research into kites and would like to know your thoughts on the following:
- Anyone use a Liquid Force Envy 2010 and is this a good kite??
- Same question again but for a Cab Convert and Switchblade??
Thanks to anyone who can help me. If anyone has any questions reguarding Mountain bikes, Road bikes, Rock Climbing or Canyoning then i'm your guy!!
Thanks again

Hi Mate
Typically for your height and weight a 12m kite and a 138 x 41 or similar board is a good start around NSW.
Dont know about LF kites, the convert is a good learner but you will probably grow out of it pretty quick the switchy is a good learn/progress kite IMO.
Want to sell me MTB cheap? :)
Enjoy,
