Hi all. Only 6 weeks into the sport and well and truely hooked. I currently have 10m lithium, which is great, but wanting a smaller, second hand kite for the windier days 22kts+. Im 70kg and have no problems getting up in 11kts on my 10m.

Was thinking about a 7m north evo or rebel, any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Hey mate, I don't know much about the norths but I'm selling a 9m Slingshot T3 on seabreeze it may seem big for what your asking for but I'm only 65kg and I have over 22knots plenty of the time. It is a great kite for someone new to the sport it has great depower. Here is the link if you are interested.

Happy to answer any other questions you might have. Good kiting

Great move getting a second kite.A 6 or 7 will do the job.North rebels are great kites for beginners.Have 2 of the best features a kite could have.Fifth line for safety and they fly up wind really well.hope this helps.

If your new to the sport then try to find 2011 -2012 gear.Pump the kite up,check for the obvious.Dont buy second hand kites that have been repaired for holes or tears.
You will find alot of kites in this size bracket that have had very little use as they are for high wind.cheers

Mate, I have rebels and I'd just advise demoing one first before you buy one. They have a lot of great attributes but they also have a couple of stinkers. The fifth line can be hard work sometimes, the kite has a propensity to fall out of the sky in gusty winds which can lead to the fifth line wrapping around the centre. You learn to recognize when this is going to happen and even how to unwrap the line without unhooking but it can be frustrating.

Someone else on the forum has likened the Rebel to a demented seagull and I reckon that is spot on. After adding a four line kite to my quiver and experiencing hassle free kiting, I am definitely going to ditch the fifth line at trade in time.

I reckon the rebel 2012 is a brilliant kite. I have a 7m and can use it from 20 knots up to 35. It is so zippy and easy to control. My rebel 2011 10m is a slow old dog by comparison.

I've never had any problems with 5 th line tangles described by di33.
In my very limited experience, the 2012 rebel is a lot better than the 11.

why dont you just get a smaller lithium , youll be used to the handling, set up, you wont need a different bar ,just use the one you have, itll be a lot cheaper, the lithiums are a decent kite, although the rebels are a decent kite, they are overated and the are a few kites out there as good if not better
