Hey Guys,
I had my first full session on new V3 sector 54 yesterday. Nice board but takes a bit of getting used to and the straps are terrible.
I tried a few jibes and all attempts ended up with me falling off the back on my backside. Any tips on how to jibe the damn thing? At least I made sure I left my TT at home so I had no choice but to keep using the sector.
As for the straps, I cannot make them tight enough for my liking. I pulled the fark out of the adjustment strap and although tighter it's still not good enough. Because of the loose straps I didnt have the level of control I wanted and no confidence to really push the board. Has anyone tried different straps? I am looking at getting a couple of Dakine Supremos and give them a go. Has anyone used them?
Cheers

have you tried flattening the straps out , IE screwing them into the furthest two mounting points ?

Before attempting jibes, get used to riding the board comfortably on toeside and also without the back foot in the strap on toeside and heelside as well. The straps don't need to be very tight, they hold pretty well for my small feet (7.5 us) even at high speeds and over chop. Moving your straps to the outside screws will help.
Two of the easiest ways I find to jibe the sector:
-Take back foot off the strap at the end of your heelside tack, then turn to toeside (downlooping the kite often helps). Make sure you move the back foot over to the new toeside edge and push the back knee hard upwind (this will help to keep your speed, direction and balance), then attempt to swap feet back to heelside (the quicker you do this the easier it is)
-At the end of your heelside tack, swap your feet from heelisde to toeside and continue riding toeside on the same direction, then you can change to heelside in the new direction with your feet already in place.
I hope this helps, and don't worry it takes a few weeks to get comfortable, and remember toeside riding is the KEY.

Thanks Guys,
Will keep practicing those jibes, hopefully will be doing at least a few in the next couple of sessions.
As for the straps - I tried both closest and furthest holes for the straps and neither works. I think this is partially to do with the adjustment system - as i wiggle my feet in the straps get looser. Had to adjust them every few runs.
I think I will try some other straps and see how the go.
