I bought the same kite that I learnt on with the instructor. Slingshot RPM. It has been great. Had it for a year now and love it.
Agree completely - a great kite.
But for learning ???? ...... maybe not the sharpest learning curve option out there.
But as to the first question
"are ben wilson kites good for beginners???"
The Noise is a fast and responsive kite - no doubt about that.
Its not a sluggish pussy-easy school kite but if your school/instructor offers great instruction on preliminaries (like a solid trainer kite or short line program) then no reason not to slip into learning onto a slightly advanced kite like the Noise.
Esp true if you are heading towards a true kite "surfing" future. Why not learn on the kite you are going to want to be flying.
