anyone have any thoughts on whether buying a new cheap best kahoona 2015 for first kite would be a good option for first kite to learn on or not.

priced at 500.

i have tried to read a number of other posts around what is good to get for first setup and admittedly it is a little confusing.

so just wonder if safer to get a new kite rather than gamble on a older kite that has been used.

of course budget is tight and yes i need to invest in additional lessons.

any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

One thing to take into account
best don't exist any more, so parts would have to be custom made bridles bladders, etc, can be done but worth thinking about, bar?
tbh there's some great buys around the $500 ish mark
ive just sold a rebel flown 2 times inc bar lines leash for $500,

Best is still around, they are online only!!!!!!

2015 was a terrible year for bladders. If you buy it, DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE CAR! Keep cool and you should be right. The bar is also harsh on the hands and QR can get very sticky

Kemp90 Is correct with everything he said above.

Older best had Problems with valves then and a Quick Release that wasn't very functional plus a bottleneck issue causing the safety line to jam in the bar when trying to flag out the kite. Would not recommend

I learnt on a kahuna and yeah would recommend it. Easy kite to start on. Very forgiving huge wind range easy relaunch and very stable.

YES you need to check the valves but it really isn't a big issue the way some peeps go on. First half 2015 they used a bad glue batch so you may need to reglue the valves if they got overheated but it's a once off job and pretty straightforward. Just check before purchase.

Yeah they still exist too.
