Im umming and aahing about purchasing a 7m best waroo kite 2008 hardly used incredibly cheap. It has safety bar n lines 5 line. Not sure if it's okay for beginners. I am a 50kg female and i have currently got a 9m liquid force that im struggling and losing confidence with. Is there any point for me to buy the best waroo or will there be no different to the liquid force? Thanks for your help in advance

At your weight you will notice a big difference between the power of a 7m and 9m I should think.

However, as a newbie also, I was advised not to buy earlier than 2010 due to more recent safety systems being an improvement. This was just general advice thought and I don't know anything about those brands of kites you're looking at as I have Cabrinha.

More experienced people will be able to advise better than I tbh.

I'd say cost in the main reason for your choice of kite? The fuse IMHO would be a step ahead, perfectly safe but quite powerfull , plenty of rios and catalysts around, north dice, etc etc etc, the waroo gets a bagging but a couple of locals have them and they seem fine

I live on the Goldy as well and would be happy to help you out by looking at the LF to make sure there are no issues with bar tuning etc.

I also have a 2011 8m Cabrinha switchblade that you are welcome to try. What stage are you at with your learning?

Thanks gilly, I've decided to sit on this one, just to wait until I find a perfect cabrinha 7 metre. For now I'll keep using the LF. At least this way i can keep getting some experience for the time being. The guy who sold it to me, you may know him as he is my instructor who does lessons on the goldie :-) and he's a good instructor I trust him well.

Or even an ozone catalyst would suit me well by the reviews they have :-)

Great attitude! you need a lot of persistence with this sport.....
Kite control is best learnt in at least knee deep water,,,sand is not very forgiving

Just something to think about before committing to a 7m kite. I bought the 8m switchy for my 45kg son to learn on. I was leaning towards a 6m kite because I didn't want him to be overpowered and out of control while trying to learn. I soon realized that if I got him a slightly bigger kite, he would be able to learn in less wind which will make the learning process a little less stressful. Personally I believe u would be better off with an 8 or 9m kite learning in 15-18knts then as you progress start going out in higher wind strengths and edging hard against the pull of the kite. You will soon begin to learn that power is ur friend

Thank you so much for your help, it is hugely appreciated :-) You maybe right, I'll stick to the Liquid Force Envy 9m anyway. Im up in Sandgate quite a lot when I have time off, so we just head to Sandgate, Ive found it so ideal, theres yards of room at low tide lol. Looking forward to my next flying session cant wait already!!

Thanks again for your advice, I just might take it, especially when you said your son was 45kg on switchblade 8m, it really does sound like I can do it too!

You should be learning in knee to waist deep water, I'm hoping that's what you meant. sandgate is perfect
