choosing the right board- beginner

looking at getting my first board. will be riding around flat water (lake/lagoon) and in surf. im 6ft tall and weigh around 80kg. any suggestions on width/ length/ brand make would be greatly appreciated! also if you have a great deal for a board <$500 swing them my way i may be interested :D thanks in advance!

Go check out your local kite shop they will give you good advice as well . Or the bye and sell section in this site . Maybe something around the 135 to 140 should be ok

If you're still learning then a bigger board is easier to get up and going on. If you're up and going ok, then get a board for the long term. I'm a tad under 6ft and weigh 82kg. I mainly use my Cardboard Freeride 133. I do have a large quiver of kites though so don't need a bigger board for lighter winds. I'll message you some details on how to pick up a factory second board at a steal.

Ditto I'm about to sell my 2012 LF influence - and go down a few board sizes (141cm) I'm under 6ft so will be looking for something smaller :)
