iv been kite surfing a year now and will be traveling to oz for a year. is there local spots. what sort of conditions do ye get what kites will i need. i rely cant wait to get there but i fear there wont be great conditions.

At least you wont have to wear 7 wet suits over here.

. We get better wind here through our summer months which are coming up. From about October on. There are three kite shops on the north side of Brisbane so your bound to get what you need.

so what size kites will i need is there no chance of getting out before october. thinking of brining my 8m bull and 11 ozone instenct sport.

Depending on what you weigh. We have gusty westerlies here in winter and have had the odd couple of day of south east but they tend to be quite gusty. You can still kite these winds if your keen and dont mind the cold. I would bring both kites as we get a wide rang of conditions in summer. you will get alot more use out of your 11 though but it does depend on your size. When you get here drop into Kite Power at Redcliffe and someone will give you the advice you need

Goodtime surf shop is porb the closest to you or there is three shops not far from each other at Clontarf, Brighton or sandgate. Take yr pick.

There are opportunities all through the year, just less during winter. I got out last Friday in 20kt SE at Wello (20mins from Camp hill) - had it to myself. You could get out today in a NE. Also works on Westerlies, but cold and gusty. Come Sept/Oct it will start to get more consistant though.

Look on this website for second hand gear. Plenty to choose from. I have an 8.5m Vap II for sale if you are interested for those cranking days, but your primary kite will be 11/12m unless you are a lightweight.

nice one ya here now brought kites with but need a cheep board and someone to show me the spots was at coast once looks amazing but no kites where do ye hide.
