hey people,
i am interested in getting into kite-surfing. i am on a tight budget so was wondering what would be the best set up. I am 193cm tall and 100 kg. i am located 2 mins away from manly boat harbour (QLD). i was wondering if i should get a trainer kite first then move on. also what size sail and board i sould get. i have searched through this forum but havent really found info in my size rider for the manly area.
thankyou in advance

Just a suggestion but use the 'search' button. All topics have been covered many times and I'm sure you will find the answer to your question if you put in some time and effort.

DONT DO IT.
Unless you want to have your whole life revolve around what the winds doing.
You will always be in the poo with ya missus, boss, family for not turning up to,well anything, if its windy.

But if you do, and to answer your question.
Go get a lesson, they will help you find the right gear for your weight/local wind conditions.

A couple of lessons may seem expensive if your on a budget, but
you will save 2 months of batteling to learn and maybe save yourself or a bystander a trip to the hospital.

DONT BUY A CHEAP EBAY BARGIN.
Most are crap, they are cheap on ebay cause they cant sell them anywhere else.

study seabreeze for sale items, most importantly yr of kite manufacture, when you know the market you can buy with confidence and budget, get some advice from pros as to wind conditions and what size kite, your local shop may have the right kite at a good price, second hand gear is in over supply so you can get a good deal, any thing over 2 yrs is going to be even less than one third the original price, shop around for a saftey lesson,60$ very good

Awesome sport to learn.. I just started myself and enjoying every little bit of it. Get some lessons s though! Even if its just for safety.. most kiteschools offer a lesson + gear deal as well browse around mate you should be able to get 3 lessons and a very decent gear package for about 2 grand...
