Im a beginner kiter, and whenever the kite crashes some times it folds over itself. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

Also, how should I trim my kite in lighter winds?

Pump it up so that it is pretty solid - like when you flick it with your finger it should sound like a drum.

As for light winds, just be careful not to pull the bar in too much, unless you got the kite moving across the window with a bit of pace. If you pull the bar, and the kite stalls (starts reversing) you need to let the bar out a bit. Sometimes trimming the kite a bit will help prevent you from stalling, or you can just fly it with the bar out a bit further than usual.

Probably most importantly - don't be tempted to go out in light winds. That's a pretty common time for newbies to get into trouble. I've seen plenty that think because there is enough wind to get the kite flying that automatically it is time to get on the water, but light wind kiting can often mean you crash, cant relaunch, lose your board, get tangled in your lines, have a crap time generally because you are too much of a frother!

Hi NoBreezeNoFun

It seems like a few important aspects weren't covered well during your lessons.

This video should help you understand how to setup your kite correctly and the consequences of under-inflation:

This one should help you understand how your trimming system works and when/how to adjust it according to the conditions:

But yes, Basically you need to 1) Pump your kite Harder and 2) Only trim in light wind IF your kite backstalls, if it doesn't back stall then you don't need to trim it, simple! If you don't understand what backstalling is then you need to watch the video

what sort of kite have you got mate? there arw different pressure recommendations for different kites. I wouldn't recommend over pumping unless you want to risk visiting a kite repairer soon.
