hay all, so I got a towboard, I was really excited because I thought alltho I wont be able to do jumps etc itll be an incredible board for island hopping raceing and big waves.
unfortunatly apon my first session on it today I quickly realised that the front foot strap forces you to go in only one direction. I had to ride excruciatingly hard toeside to get out the back. then when it came to go the other direction I would have to get off the board and swap the feet in the straps etc. then I found myself not being able to continue at pace upwind etc.
itwas all such a kafuffle and resulted in me doing my first walk of shame in years upwind.
now the back strap is off centre a little bit but least its still useable either direction.
the front strap however could only really be used with right foot forward which isnt how I naturally ride.
so as a fix I have now taken off the front footstrap and smashed a heap of surf wax on it amd the plan is to just use back strap and strapless with front foot.
now heres the worrying part. theres allready some pretty big pressure dings just from my heels. and a few more up the top end which I dont even know.
should I just remove the footstraps all together and just put on some sticky mat pads and pretend its just a mini surfboard?
anyways I hope someone can set me straight with this towboard business its the one from the storm surfers competition with signatures etc etc on it. surely its not just a display board right?

Sounds like you've gotten a goofy footer tow board and your natural foot. Apart from that I would think tow board would work well for kiting.
