Hi there,

It's time for me to buy my own kite. Have had lessons with an instructor on the philippines, was able to stand up and drive wind up.
Learned with a 9m best warroo and a 9m north vegas.
I'm not that sure what kind of board it was.

I've around 90kg.

At first I was thinking to buy a naish park 12m or cabrinha switchblade 12m.

But today i found a brand new airush varial 10m for a good price (2011).

I know that it is better to get a smaller and a bigger one, but should i start with a 9 or 10 or 12m?

:ave no idea and feel lost (-;

And what kind of board? 140?

Thanks for ur help

At 90kg i would go with a 12m and 140 combo, youll be learning in 10-20 knots and a 10m at 90kg will limit your low end to a good solid 14-15 knots.
The cab is gonna have more low end than the Park but the Park will feel lighter and quicker ,both should get you going in 11-12 with a 140 board, also look fo a 41-42 wide board, it'll get you up on the plane quicker than a sub 40 wide board.

Radman4 is right, but you need advice from a local who knows your wind conditions. What may work for you here in variable QLD conditions may be overkill where you are. I have owned a few Naish and lots round here fly the Switchy, so either would be good. For 90kg anything from 136 up, depending on kite size.

If you're in Perth I'd go 9 or 10m, 136-140 board.

Thanks for your help.

Oh sorry (-:
Right now i'm in perth. Maybe going up to lancelin and stay there for a while.

One guy in a shop told me that it's better with a 12m, an other shop said I'd go with a 9 or 10m.

One (good???) Offer:
Airush Varial 10m 2011new 1200aud

What do u think?

At the end it makes sence to have a combo with 9 and 12 or 10 and 13, or?
And for the board 138-140 x 40 ?

Airush 10m varial 2011new 1299aud
Best taboo 10m 2011 almost new 1000aud

Think that i'll take this board:
Airush switch 138 x 42

What do u think?

Airush over the Best for sure. IMO. Better still, great deals around now on F ONe Bandits. The new B5 has just come out and The B 4's are going cheap, or even better, and my preference, track down a new B3, shop on the QLD sunny coast just sold their last one brand new for $1000. You get the speed of a 10m but with a bit more grunt from the Bandit.

I'm in Lancelin and a shade under 90kg, over summer 85% of my time on the water is on my 9m, 10% on my 12m and only 5% on my 7m.

Its very hard for me to buy my first kite.
But i'll do it (-:

Airush varial 2011 in 10m
Airush lithium 2011 in 10m

Ii asked around, and the guys said that the lithium has the better low end range and it feels a bit more powerfull.

True?

What did you get?

Sorry I only just looked at this thread but the either of the airush kites with a 138 switchie will work for you well in WA.

Well, went to the shop first. Bought a new Varial in 10m for 1200. That was pretty good.
Then i went to a guy, who wanted to sell his switch (142) for 600. And took it for 350 (-:
And he had a varial, bought in march, 12m, looked perfect. And a Flying Objects Harness, march as well, and I took both for !!! 670 !!!
Now I just try to change my 10m in a 9m, than everything is perfect for me.
