on the 4 line kites you can self land your kite by resting it on the edge of the window on the tip of the kite and pulling one of the centre lines and walking upwind.

how do you go about doing that with a 5 line kite?

or how do u go about self landing a 5 line kite without pulling the safety?

iv just been having it at 45 and then throwing it into the ground and pulling the centre lines just as its heading towards the ground and hope for the best that it lands and the wind dosnt pick it up again.

Just lie the kite on its wing tip
Walk slightly up wind until ithe kite is stable
Grab the centre lines and walk up the centre lines keeping tension on them until you get to your kite
Lye it down

I've had mixed success with that method due to the high Y on the Norths. With the bigger kites when you get close to the Y it can take off with enough power to drag the line through your hands, which can be nasty with water logged skin. Usually just punch out if its too windy.

So when you say a North 5 line kite are you talking a Rebel or Vegas?

Or are you talking about a 4 line North on a 5th line bar?

Different canopy shapes require different techniques.

I've always dropped it onto one wingtips and pulled the 5th line to get it to lie down
