Just wanted to share this last week - experienced guys may get a kick out of remembering what it was like to be a noob and that beautiful feeling when things start to gel, other noobs may get a glimmer of hope that improvement will eventually come.
Kiting "career" to date pretty ordinary - started with not great lessons and equipment definately not suited. Very frustrating season with little progress despite massive effort. End of that season "found" AKS and got proper lessons and proper equipment. Wait til next season.
Next season came - broke my leg after 1st session (rugby). Wait til next season.
This season starts: had a week off and determined to progress despite flukey wind. At the start of the week I could go along in one direction and STARTING to get upwind but that was the depth of my "skill" By the end of this week I can now ride upwind in one direction, I can ride along in the other direction (ex surfer so still feels like im going backwards but getting there!), I have self-launched (was the first one to the beach so no option but definately not my preferance) and today needed to pull my first self rescue (all good and better for it, now know I can do it if it hits the fan).
AND.......................still got the weekend to go!
