I got a 20cm tear on my kite on the sail material near the second bladder from the centre, is it worth using that tape or taking it in for a repair? How much do repairs like this normally cost? Thanks

Easy repair with mylar film ,comes in a mtr wide sheet and is transparent sticks like s**t apply to both sides of the repair with a good overlap and will last for years, should be able to get some from a sail shop.

20cm I'd stitch it. I had a front to back tear repaired for around a hundred.
Repairer charged by time, cheap if there's no leading edge work.

20 cm I'd also go for a stitch repair. For a simple job you don't necessarily have to go to an actual kite repairer, most upholstery repairers or even sewing centres could do it. If you're in QLD then In The Loop up north can organise a quick job at very good rates.

Yeh get to it! Don't like going by myself :( Though there won't be much 'going out' any time soon looking at the wind forecast
