cant surf for s...t but do kite surf on some waves want to go the next level and actually really get into waves . do i go and learn to surf ( to understand it better) or just get out there and drink the salt water and get smashed learning the wonders of the big bad ass ocean . or go to a wave clinc as such . yer i am a 43 year old going through a change in life but so want to do this .

I've surfed for a long time and kited for a couple of years before I started hitting the waves, still took awhile to get the hang of it. Surfing is definately not a Prerequisite but will speed the learning curve.

If you want to learn to surf also go for it, rarely do I need to decide between the two as I hate surfing in slop when the winds up!
