Almost upwind, what a lovely little truck that turns quick...depower seems good. Next test in 20-30 knots and waves.

Legs are wasted.

another 8m SB devotee here as well. Top 5 kite sessions of my life have been on that kite! The range is outstanding.

Still on the SB2 - can anyone that has experience on 8m SB2 and SB3 comment on the newer model? Specifically, does it turn better in wind near 30 knots when heavily depowered?

Riding the SB3 and ride in winds from 16 to 28knots. I find that I am a lot more powered up on the SB3 that the SB2. The SB3 seems a bit smoother and yes it does turn a little faster. The SB3 structure seems a lot more stable as well. This might be, do to the new beefed up construction. Wouldnt go back to the SB2, but have to say it was an awesome kite.. SB3 is a SB2 on steroids.
Not too bothered which side the ring is on. If you want to self land, Jon Modica (Cab team rider) shows a really sweet method on kiteforum. Self landing I would say is for advanced riders and should be the last resort if no "qualified" person is there to catch the kite. Not really fussed which side the ring is set on. Only use if self landing just in case the "Modica method" fails and I have to eject. Though if you have to eject out on the water, i guess a ring on the front line would probably be most ideal, however the back lines work fine.
