On my Facebook page an add kept coming up on the side promoting switch kites ''become a switch rider and get massive discounts''. Went to the website to see the range of kites they have. The way they market their gear is weird. Using all macho terms. Just seem fake. Looks like you can't buy a new kite from a shop but have to get it directly from the manufacturer. Anyone out there own or had a go on any of these kites?? They seem cheap enough.

My mate is "team rider" for switch, he rides the combats, have had a ride on his 11m combat, just your typical 'c' kite, i liked the kite, good for unhooked tricks, loops etc... wasnt a huge fan of the bar, but it wasnt horrible.
Reasonably good quality for the price.....
they cant be all that bad if Marc jacobs, 3rd overall in the PKRA s riding them.

Despite what some people think of the marketing, they are really well designed and constructed kites. If you are a beginner/intermediate or want a kite that does everything pretty well, go the Element. The other models are no compromise designs for what they are supposed to do (Combat free/wake-style) Nitro (freeride / boosting) and Method (wave). I ride Combats or an Element depending on the day and have been very happy with them. A lot of the focus has been on maximising the unhooked performance of these two kites and there has been a great deal of prototyping and testing. I have no financial affiliation but the owners are local and I have been really impressed how they got the company off the ground, deliver good kites at very reasonable prices, and help Marc fly the flag on the PKRA circuit.

i dont know about the kites, but the vid of marc jacobs riding the combat it is sweet :)

Saw a dude at my local the other day on one. He was absolutely tearing it up too.

He seemed pretty powered on his Element. Not sure what it would be like for a beginner though, kinda looked like it sat back quite a bit in the window

Saw the Combat 13 m the other day in the air. Asked the rider who had borrowed it from a friend and normally ride Vegas. He preferred the turning speed of the Vegas but other than that he liked the kite. He said it had reasonable depower for a C kite but was really oldshool design so to speak = Real C design.

I also talked to he owner. He said he had a couple of Method kites that he liked so he had ordered 2 Combats as well.

To me I looked fine in the air. I have no opinion of the quality.

They look nice and the Element model do kind of look like same type as my new Bandit 5. However I would never buy a kite without trying and that is not possible here.
I just tried the new RRD Obsession Pro 13,5m..... and I would e.g. have been very sad if I had bought that without trying first !!

Well at least I can get to try the Combat here as there's a guy having them

The Element is a well behaved kite, easy to fly, and well suited to beginners. Nothing wrong with it's upwind performance.

Switch quality is right up there.

My main kite is an Ozone Reo. Though not the same, I was quite happy flying the Element
