Hey goldrat, if you've got the opportuninty to demo a board get on one and go for a ride and find out what is easiest or what feels better..
Most people don't need a learner baord,if you can surf wake board skate or snow board you have the board skills and will easily pick up this sport. meaning just get a board that will suit your needs as a rider.
what do you want to do with your riding if you want to do big boosts a shorter board, if you'd like to ride waves a longer board with a little rocker and curved outline, wake style not too long or short but with width and straighter out line.
For your weight a board length anywhere from 155 down to 145 should be good, it's all personal preference. personally I'd reccomend a slingshot 146 misfit for wake, a 147 or 155 sx for boosting all round or surf style twin tip. if you want to ride in lighter winds maybe even a glyde with bigger fins for learning.
main thing demo if you can and get out and have fun.

okay. Personally there is no such think as 'a beginners board'.

You can get an excellent kiteboard that lasts you from your beginning stages right through until you are throwing nice mobes and k'loops.

My advice is to DEMO one... actually TRY the board you are wanting to buy. Any reputable dealer will have, or be bale to get you a board to try before you actually purchase it.

I know Padi has an enormous range of kiteboards, wakeboards, and kites if you are interested in trying the gear before you buy! At least you won't waste your money!

I unfortunately made the mistake of solely listening to the shop where I purchased my first kite, board and harness, and ended up with a 140 board. Personally GREAT for learning, but honestly, after that just oooo massive.

Give it all a shot. At least you know if you can try it, you're getting an honest opinion off all the gear, and a feel for it yourself.
