Hi all,
This afternoon i went down to the kite shop (Kitepower) at Sans Souci and flew a 13m Best Hellfish.
The wind was VERY LITE. Steve who is the owner of Kitepower came over with me and flew an Ultra Light wind stunt kite.
First impression of the Hellfish out of the bag was WOW. Its really chrome and has a very strange feel to it. Almost like one of those warm space blanket thingy's that the Ambulance guys use.
So i start to pump it up the same as my Rhino's. Then steve says pump it harder. I ended up pumping it so hard that my pump couldnt do it any harder (no psi gauge. sorry).
Steve gives me a launch and it flew in roughly 3-5 knots, i think. I didnt have a wind meter but the water was glassy (no joke )
So i sat the kite at the edge of the window and it just stayed there. Then i started to move it around and as i got the feel of it i started flying to the edge and downlooping it so the kite would fly straight through the window.

This 13m kite pulled like a truck in 5 knots of wind.

OK not so much like a truck but easily pulling me 10-15 meters along the beach on my heels.
I had about half an hour of flying and i think Steve may have managed to get a few photos.

Its truly a Big step in kite design and i can easily see myself riding a 20m in the same amount of wind.

Still sittin here in aaaawwwwww

ARROW OUT
If you dont believe me go down and fly one for yourself.

**Will do a more detailed review when i try it on the water. Hopefully Friday if no-one else is using it. haha

check this review out on the new hell fish... looks like the claims re extra low wind grunt may be just a bunch of best marketing hype... and a few other prob's (but apparently on on the demo models... year right as is they would be sending out inferior kites to be tested by stores and yet the ones customers get are perfect... that's a lot of trust best!

this tester is claiming the yarga has signifcantly more low range grunt!

I thought that was a good read andrew...

However it would have been better if the "reviewer" had stated wind conditions, line length, board size been ridden etc etc...

Apart from that a good report...

How much damage does hype do? The review tells us what we already really knew.....sure its a better kite than the old Bests but as for "all kites are redundant" that is such crap.

Maybe its just me but I wouldn't buy one and I stay away from their gear for this reason alone.

When will they learn not to treat us like kids. I know all co hype their gear but comments like that are just ridiculous.

Chop Chop, not doubting your figure conversions as the 30% is indeed correct as we've had this arguement once before.

However I think this day that Arrow has flown the HF is not the same day as when KP's son excitedly wrote the wrong figures down in a review...

Read down the bottom of Arrows post,

This says to me that indeed it was 3 to 5 knots as Arrow never got out on the water...

I would be nice if Arrow would come and clarify this...

Hey brownee,
Still no luck at trying the beast out on the water. The wind has been pretty shocking lately.

You are right. I have got nothing to do with the KP and there windmeter stuff up.
My post clearly states that i flew this kite at Sans Souci. NOT Geelong.
And no i could not get going on the water in the 3-5 knot wind that i was flying in. I didnt even bother to try.
But yes the kite was dragging me down the beach when i flew it fast and kept it moving.

The only thing i am trying to say is that its a
13M KITE FLYING IN 3-5 KNOTS. THERE ARE STILL THE 15M, 17M, 20M AND 25M SIZES TO BE RELEASED.
I think the 20m and 25m will be interesting.
