Hey mate what LF bindings have you got? the older kite bindings had 7.5 inch spacings and could only fit older boards. the newer ones both wake and kite will fit pretty much any board as 6inch spacing is the new standard.

I would recommend the Best Profanity as the board to get. it is the most similar to wake boards in terms of construction, stiff, excellent pop, good rocker to absorb hard landings but still fast and works well in lighter winds.

Get the same size board as you use wakeboarding, not sure how much you weigh but a 138 would be good for 75 - 90 kg.

The Gambler has a lot less rocker, less stiffness, and less bottom shape than any other wakestyle specific board on the market. If you come form wakeboarding I suspect it won't be for you. To be fair I've not ridden it and some much better riders than me do like it so demo it if you are able.

I ride a 2011 LF DLX and I have no affiliation with anybody. I really like this board. Good stiffness, good rocker but not so much that it needs a ton of power to get moving. Great pop and goes well finless.

the gambler i don't have much experience with but when i rode it i noticed it rode more like a kiteboard.

if you like the ride of a wakeboard then something like the Profanity Custom or DLX would be the bet.

if you prefer the feel of a kiteboard (softer flatter rocker etc) the Gambler, Tempo or influence would be the styles of board to look at.

personally i prefer the wake feel more, i like a solid board that you can load really hard on and it feels like a more aggressive ride. the over all feel for me is much better which is why i prefer boards like the profanity. they also work better for heavier blokes as you won't reverse flex them.

I mostly ride woodies too, teach up at pinaroo, you'll see me on red and white Best C kites normally.

I don't know if anyone in perth has the profanity IN stock but you can easily get one sent over from east in a few days. Mine should be getting here soon. If anyone does have one Phil at Woodies kite surf sup will be the guy. I'll pm you some contact details for them

Surely the Slingshot Darkside would have to be a contender. http://ride.slingshotsports.com/2012-Darkside?sc=45&category=35842

I had a quick run on it with Ronix boots and it felt great.

nah that board's pretty average compared to other wakestyle boards, fins are in stupid positions and the outline is whack and has weird rocker line. and yes this applies to the first and 2nd gen models that i've seen.

My personal favourites are the profanity custom and DLX influence.

Also have a look at the Nobile 50-50 sweet board, and the straps they come with are super sick. Only straps i like / feel comfortable in (i ride in boots)
I ride the Cab custom and i reckon its a bit better then the 50-50 with pop and flex pattern.
I say demo a few and see what you like most!

Yeah the 50-50 was alright but i found the board had a funny feel due to the dagger board fins it has, with smaller fins i think it has some good potential. there is only one stance option with normal 6inch boots and it's pretty narrow, better with the older boots though.
It definitely rides like a kiteboard though and was a bit too soft for my preference, but like i said i love the feel of a solid wakeboard-like board.
