Consists of a Mal over 9ft and any kite under 13m.

I think your topic should say "Who's going to pimp the hardest!"

Any of the 16m flat kites should work or if you're a heavy bastard, get a flysurfer 15m or 19m kite.

Other alternative is to get a skim or surfboard and use your existing smaller kite

According to the North website and reviews on the net, the Rebel has a massive low-end. The figures seem a bit far fetched (12m low end of 10knots) but might be worth considering.

That or, big bar, wide wing-tips and a big board

another vote for the monsoonz, i flew one about five times in extremely marginal conditions and loved it, so bought one as soon as they came into the country. it's a purpose-built light wind kite, and the grunt that the 10m delivers is on par with most 14-16m bows. the 14m version is usable from 10 knots for a heavy rider 80kg+, but i use the 10m for 10-15 knots and for a light rider (63kg) i find it just brilliant. easily the most powerful 10m kite in production i would think. projected area is hard to beat.

Look for the kite which is pretty flat and has a small rigid leading edge (with a very strong seam ;-) - unbeatable apparent wind generation.......I know a very good one that fit's the bill, is about to be superceded, is going for good deals and would be perfect for your request in a 13m sizing. No names, but that would be pimping!

check the Torques kite that stonker has been testing!!

You should be able to get going before any other inflatable kite. They are a flat kite and have been in testing for about 6mths. Bruno is the designer and we just finalised the new design about 2 weeks ago. Sizes are 5m, 7m, 10m, 12m, 14m and a lightweight 17m is on the way but still in testing.

The brand is fluid kiteboarding and is based in Melbourne. I hope the 10m and 14m will be in sydney next week for anyone who wants to try.

46 cm wide board and larger will cure your light wind problem.

Over 14m squared kite isn't any good for kite looping and is too much rag in the sky to go up wind well.

Wide light wind boards SUCK>>>
I just bought one rode it once and sold after that ride...
They might get u going but as a board they are no fun..
Get urself a Nobile skim board...
Fun and learn unstrapped riding as well..
Heaps cheaper than a light wind board and so much fun.....

Wide light wind boards suck?
Skimboard sucks for chucking slim chances.

Not everyone wants a "shove it" on their list of tricks.
Actually you can "shove it" a square 46cm wide board and slim chance.

Did you get a light wind cardboard? These are great pretty dam versitile too.

If your budget is not too tight:
Definetly a Flysurfer SA19 combined with a spleene door(45 wide) or even better a spleene monster door (55 wide) is the way to go.

There is no better lightwind setup.

My experience is that a board (door) has a significant impact on the lightwind performance of any kite. With this board you might get down depending on your weight to 10-11 Knots with a 14-16 Bow. The door has a lot of flex which will allow you to ride it as well up to 20 knots and it does not feel as big as it is.

Additional 2-3 knots improvement can be achieved with the SA19 means going down to 8-9 knots considering a weight of around 95 KG. For a 60 kg it would probably mean going down to 6 knots. But with using a SA19 you will be able to go for some jumps already with 10-12 knots and you can change to a small board with 12 knots and above. The upper limit is 20 knots with this kite and a small board.

Cheers

If you're busy riding a skim you are sure as hell not going to be doing any slim chances, in fact, in the wind a skim will get you going, you're unlikely to be jumping at all so shoveits are about as exciting as being on the water gets.
