Hey everybody, have decided I am going to get my hands on a crossbow 2 and interested in peoples opinions regarding which size to go for.

I am 80kg, live in Perth and can kite all conditions but by no means a complete ripper. Not really that interseted in kiting under 15 knots so complete bottom end not too important. What do you reckon.

Cheers.

yes, im also wondering the same thing although i only weigh 70kg,

im most likely gonig to go for the 9m, because these bow kites tend to have morel lift due to the pro span extreme but id like to hear every1 elses oppinion

According to the Cabrinha website, for a 75kg rider, the windrange for a crossbow is:

9m - 17kts to 25kts
12m - 12kts to 20kts

In my opinion though for an intermediate rider, you could probably use the 12m in up to 25kts and you would probably be struggling a bit in 12kts unless you had a large board.

Realplayer, you should be OK on a 9m on the Sunshine Coast however you may be a bit limited on some days. There are a few bow kites out there that come out in an 11m that you should also look at i.e. GK sonic and Waroo.

Tom consider a 9m with 2 boards. I reck'n you could easily get a 15-25+ knot range out of the kite. Plently of second hand board options out there and much cheaper than a 2nd kite! An average 18-22kn WA seabreeze then sits in that range quite nicely

Thanks for the info boys.

Airhead how are you doing? Has been a while, i bet your loving your pt walter morning sessions. Will have to catch up, when are the Black Keys coming back?

Yeah i think i am leaning towards the 9 as over 23 knots is way more fun than under 18.

As a guage.
i have a 9 and had a 12m Xbow 1 I'm 85kg, ride a 138 Addiction Board
9 is my strong wind kite so above 23 knots to about 33 ish...
12 is the rest down til about 15 knots

Both are real sweet kites...my favourite is the 9, boosts huge whips around and is pure fun.
Good luck

Just a general Question to all Qld folk...

Is anyone interested in having a demo run of a CB2 available to have a go on during a weekend or so? (ie. a general demo day for everyone to try one and talk about one etc)

Hi, what about a guy about 100-105 kgs? What are the wind ranges for this weight range? When would a 9m, say crossbow be used over the 12m?

Sunshine Coast... beginner level and looking for both flat and wave riding capabilities. Riding both wake and surfboards.
