You can use a suicide leash like pictured, good set up for handle passing.
Note - The leash is also connected to the 5th line. Nice one action full flagging release.

If there is no one around to land your kite. Wedge your board, tie your sedate kite to your board.
Stay well away from your lines in strong wind. If the kite wants to fly the fly lines will run through your hands and claret will go everywhere.

Dont T bag on the beach during squals, hoping someone is going to save you. Get your rig down before its too late.

Right-on, Porno. ^^
But as you well know,
flagging a kite is nothing new.
The technology has been around since 2001.
However,
having the disciple to actually flag the kite well before you get the hit is the tricky bit.
Once you cop the big hit, it's pretty much game-over.
It happens in a heartbeat.
Bam.
Dead.

Sorry.

that's not how you self land a kite. that's how you put a hole in the back of your head when the board flies out of the sand and you're still walking up the lines.

there is no such thing as a sedate kite in a squall

If I didnt put enough sand on the board.
Then I saw the kite flying away,
it would make sense to step aside.

I probably would.
