Looking for advice about switching to a directional board. I am intermediate level, 80kg, currently riding on a 134cm twintip (Liquid Force DLX) with a 10m Ozone Catalyst V1. I am looking for something that can double as surfboard (graduating from softboard). I read that some but not all types of surfboards are suited for kiting. For learning and in small/medium waves conditions. Any recommendations/ advice?

Do you want to ride with straps ? If not just buy a cheap small surfboard and get stuck in. You will probably break it, but who cares.

What did you end up getting and how do you feel about the choice? I bought a hybrid board - surf or I can attach a foil later - but I haven't used it yet because I'm still a relative novice and I want to get better on the twin-tip first. Also I already lost a nice twin-tip (holiday beach crowd), so I'm happy to just use my beat-up old board for now.
