I am sure it is weight related :) how else wopuld you expect someone to fly 11m edge on 30 knt wind :) (talking about Cole here heheheh)
Kids kids I am mearly making remark upon a fact that (and we are talking not only semantics here) that big kites (situation when both riders are same weight let's be precise then) will not go higher that a small on same wind. No blo_ody way - ever.
What big kite has more than the small one?
and No KP here I am going to seriously argue. 7M does not require biig power to pull you high. You are experienced enough to remember what the jump is all about when you ride on a C shape. Apply the same technique here and = I am talking big air :) Besides - I am not picking KP
One thing is certain = Bigger kite + massive wind = more hangtime (but that is it)
but please go on and keep suggesting to beginners to get out there and try 11 m edge on 30knt wind heheheheh....you know monkey see monkey does thing.
@Kitehard...mate I would love to have a decent kite session with you on Kitestock but being a common (far from regular or ordinary) 2868 my arse is here in NSW. The kingdom of light winds and all other 2868's.
Ok Common 2868, so it seems you understand some of the physics involved in boosting and kiting, however making generalised assumptions or generalisations about all kites based on our own limited experiences leads to innaccurate, or wrong theories.
In general an experienced kiter on an 8-11M c or bow kite will jump highest simply because those sizes are the optimum when it comes to highest lift factor and lowest drag factor.
However some smaller sized kites will not jump as high as some bigger sized kites, for a variety of reasons, mostly to do with lift and drag ratio though.
From my observations the Ozone Edge 11M has amazing boost height ability, for an 11M kite, and in the same wind, same rider, the 11M will outboost the 7M, but in stronger winds the 7M will outboost the 7M, ok?
No-one recommended newbies go out and do this. Read Kitehards first reply to the thread starter.
