Just bought it 2 weeks ago a new 13 mtr Ozone sport, having watched a couple of friends on them they were always tacking and hanging a alot better than i was.
so did a quick demo and a bought one, great kite !, bar pressure light, responsive in light or gusty winds and excellent hang time . It has been a pleasure to ride. Manufacture and finish is first rate. if your thinking about a new kite put this one on your list to demo Darren will be more that happy to assist.

I haven't flown the Edge's at all, but I own an 11m Sport and have flown it regularly in the last couple of months.

I agree with what arsa has to say about the flapping/vibration. I've just started doing kiteloops and the thing is bloody noisy through the loop. The flapping/vibration seems to occur on the trailing edge about 1m up from the wing tips.

I pump my kite up to 10psi.

The Sport and the Light will flutter their trailing edges in a kiteloop mainly due to the bar being depowered by the rider. This is inadvertent on the riders behalf and most times you don't even realise you are doing it.

If you keep the bar fully sheeted, it wont flutter, it comes as a result of the trailing edge being detensioned by the back lines when you ease the bar out. It doesn't effect the kite or the performance except maybe slowing the canopy down a little.

It's one thing to throw a kiteloop on a kite with depower but you really notice how much you sheet out when you start riding a fixed pulley bar, the pull is much stronger because the kite stays properly powered throughout the entire loop.

interesting - sounds like it's a characteristic of the Sport and Light but not the Edge. doesn't really matter anyway, it's not like you care if the kite flutters when turning at 360 degrees per second..... so long as it doesn't stuff the kite over time.

The kite does this regardless of whether the bar is sheeted in or out. Same thing happened when doing unhooked back rolls the other day.

As I said in my prev post, Myles's kite was doing this last time I rode with him as well, Not bagging the kite at all, just want to make sure that if I fly this kite full time, will the material start to break down on the trailing edge after time like a flag does after age.

Same thing occured on the Wipika Matrix in 06, but was mainly due to a 3 inch strip of Dacron along the trailing edge and it amplified the vibrating sound. The Sport does not have much reinforcement.


This is a real small cosmetic question, and as the new North Queensland dealers for Ozone I dont feel that this is an issue, Just thought I would gauge the response from other users and use it as constructive feedback. This is the first thing my customers asked me at the demo day at the beach the other day and am just looking for answers. Thanks
