Mate the custom is for wakestyle, not sure about the shinn, but I know nobile make good boards. It sounds like you need a freeride board, heaps better all rounder. Personally I couldn't go past the underground flx(performance freeride). I love mine.

Hi FIKETTO
I ride the shinn 09 with the new pads, awesome board but has a very different feel. Took a little while to really be able to take advantage of its performance, but once you get it has excellent carve ,great in the surf, good load and pop, good upwind (but does like a bit of power, not light wind) . Favourite thing is it makes the water feel flater and glassy even in choppy water or surf and seems to push your ridding style. In general love the pads love the board. Would recommend trying one if you are in NOOSA come and see me.

go the shinn, there is a huge differance in rocker in the to boards. the custom will sit deeper in the water and take a little longer to plane too. i have a 138 and i do like it in the waves and it is very forgiving when landing trickssaying that i prefer to ride my 136 aboard which is nearly identical to the shinn in mho. the cabrinha is what i ride when the wind blows over 25knts it digs in and is a little slower.
i`m 90kgs and spend 95% of the time on a 13m rev.
hope this helps.

I have had many boards over the years and most are good for there purpose.

Try Cardboards I have had 3 todate and currently own 2, great range and price with very flexible service and design options - the free ride may suit your needs

If you were looking at the custom, have you considered the caliber?

Still got a 3d bottom similar to the custom, so you could ride without fins, (if need be), but it has less rocker, so it will get on the plane quicker. Enough to soften the landings, though.

Can't say how it would perform on waves, as I haven't a clue what a TT needs for that. But if it's occasional waveriding, I wouldn't be too fussed myself and would probably pick up a bashed up cheap directional / surf board for the times when the waves beckon

My vote's on the Shinn.
It may be one year older than the Cabrinha but it'll be a much MUCH nicer board and one that you can keep for at least a couple of years without being tempted by the latest and greatest shiny graphics.

Shinn boards, like Nobile boards are damn nice to ride.
From my recollection the Shinn is like a bit more of a versatile version of the 666, but way more focused than the 555.
