OK, I really like the new RRD kites. So fast and smooth, no old oversheeting issues.
BUT, release the bar, and the depower is minimal compared to most other hybrids.
Sure, you can actively use the depower device, and the zipper to reduce trailing edge tension is great, but the bar throw sucks.
WHY?
Has anyone tried lengthening the chicken loop line?
I would appreciate comments from other RRD users ....

hey Gasman
I have been using the Type 9 -7,9 &12 since June last year mainly in the surf.
For me, I like the shorter chicken loop line. If you need more depower have you tried pulling in the depower line? (dumb question I know - just had to ask).
For me, the longer the bar throw the more the dreaded poo stance. If I'm reaching the top end of the kite - particularly going down the line in waves- I put up a size smaller kite, which is cool cause I like the 7 better than the 9 better than the 12.
Have we all forgotten the minimal range days of the old c kites? Small price to pay for a super fast turning high performance kite.

Yes, I find I'm tweaking the depower line all the time. Likewise, I am rarely using more than the 7m.
No, I have not forgotten the C kite days, actually i started on 2 line kites with zero depower. But, that still does not make the RRD optimised for me. Maybe I should toughen the fck up?
