Was talking today about the pro's and cons of the reactor and the flow and thought I would share the outcome as it is a bit of a thin line for me personally .
Not the differences but which kite I prefer and why .
The Reactor is the performance machine . It flys faster than any kite I know and turns much the same .The depower is very sensitve and by letting the bar out to the end of the chickenloop you depower more than any std kites I know .
The reason this kite is good is because it does all of this AND is still user friendly . The tag " EXPERTS ONLY " does not really apply any more .
The steering is progresive and the bar gives lots of feedback allowing you to feel exactly what the kite is doing . Looking at the kite it looks like a low aspect and this has given it heaps of stability despite its ability to fly fast and forward into the window .
Due to this ability to fly forward , the kite can be held in stronger winds more easily . Given its flat foil and speed through the air it is able to use apparent wind well, giving them great bottom end , therfore giving these kites a very large useable windrange .
To use these kites to their full potential you do have to be on the ball but the results can be mind blowing , big boosts , lots of range of power and super manouverable for waves .
The Flow .
These kites fly slower , are super stable and turn on thier axis .
These kites are the "no brainers" to use . You can cruise around and concentrate on the tricks you want to do or the wave you are riding because any mistakes in flying are easily corrected .
They have a smaller windrange and do become a bit nonresponsive when depowered too much . They have lots of grunt and don't really need to be worked much to use the bottom end range .
Despite not giving huge boosts they have great hangtime again without having to work the kite .
I ride waves only , on a surfboard set up with straps . So I don't boost but I do use some kitepower to ride the waves .
I usually throw the kite around a lot to get the power and depower I need for the different turns on the wave .
This is why It is a tough choice between the flows and reactors .
I chose the flows in the smaller sizes 8 and 10 because in stronger wind a I can concentrate more on the waves and less on the kite.
For my lightwind kite I have gone for the 12 Reactor . I have tried a 15 Reactor but because I am riding the surfboard have found the 12 gets going just as soon but is a lot more manouverable allowing me more scope on the wave . The ability to work the kite to get going and then being able to throw it around enough to still be able to do what I want on the wave is the perfect combo for me .
It takes a lot more awareness flying the 12 in light wind but the alternative is not being able to ride the waves.

My Friend has a 12 Reactor and I got an 04 14mt Flow.
When we put the 2 together inside each other pumped up. They were very similar in size. The flow had 5cm longer struts and tapered differently on the ends. length they looked the same.
In the sky the reactor moves really quick and has really light bar pressure. The flow is a bit slower but has quite a lot of low down grunt.
Both take gusts quite well, I find the Flow a bit easier to handle as it is less twitchy but I really like the quick light response from the Reactor.
Both great kites! for a learner the Flow and for the more skilled rider the Reactor.
I am still a beginner but I really like both.
