Hi there, talking about my xr5, as i already saied in another topic i find It little bit slow. I already do all settings to make It more direct, but i also noticed that at the very base of the bar i could make the back lines shorter of 20cm + or -. Anybody tried or can comment about potencial kite behaviour doing that? At the beginning i thinked it could Be too much but then i thinked if there Is, Is done to let do some tries. Just looking for more direct, not for more power

Agreed.. if you shorten the back lines you will induce stall. The XR5's are good at a lot of things, but quick turning ain't one of them.

That generally for line trimming adjustments
you can shorten in small increments approx 30/40 mm
this will give you a more direct feel a bit better lower end and due to lesser lag in the backlines a slicghtly quicker initiation in steering, but in lesser winds a chance of backstall, in light wind that increases, but you've got the knots so just re set to conditions,
Plenty of kiters don't use the
line / pigtail setting on their kites, it really opens you up to different conditions and make more use of your kite

It's a powerful kite with a fair degree of aspect designed for jumping big, old school style ... it's meant to be slow ffs. So when you go huge and god forbid actually do something up there, you don't have to worry about the kite or the throw.

Those are used only for trimming the bar /making sure that all lines have the same length, as shown in the video. These lines are not meant to be used for kite trimming. If you were to take these lines out, the kite would not perform well anymore.??I would suggest moving the attachment for the steering lines on the kite on the fastest turning speed. The CIT points, I personally leave them on the standard setting all the time, but you might try moving the further to the tips for lighter bar pressure. Then again, you have tried those already.
