The thin LE makes it fast turning for it's size and really good grunt

realistically you cant do much good freestyle in 12 knots but looking at a kite the same as or similar to your other kites is the best bet if you're serious about freestyle.
a 15m C4 if they make those would be a great start, or a 13 - 15 in any other Hybrid c / c kite format would be a go.

But like i said FS is quite limited in the sub 15s and a surfy would probably be a better bet IMO.

if ur doing fs in 12 knots you're dangling and doing it underpowered...

13 or 15M C4's, you already have them and know how good they are, the 15M is an amazing kite, feels much smaller, same with the 13M.

yep, got the 9 and 11 and i'm loving them more and more each session. They've actually taught me how to fly a kite;) Not so sure about a c4 as a light wind option though. Light wind performance isn't their strongest suit... There must be better light wind performers that are good to unhook on?

problem is light wind performance kites have the type of characteristics unhooking kites dont and vice versa... seriously though if you can't get away unhooking on a 15m C4 then its too light to be worth the effort.

Hey Will, glad you got the kite flying sorted. Certainly the C4s are more demanding of quality input and correspondingly more responsive to it than your previous and no longer mentionable power plants.

I have to say though, winter for me is all or nothing so I'm surprised you're chasing a light wind option. That said I haven't been looking at the graphs lately so maybe there have been some 14 knot days...?

Certainly if next summer is setting up to be as crap as last one I'll be looking at a larger C4 then. Maybe I'll hit Steve up for a 15m demo if it comes to that. Meantime I'm getting my knee back in shape and counting down the days.

Just wanted to see what light wind option's for freestyle were out there. Would likely get a 7m before I look at a 15/17m anyhow.
Took the 9 out for it's maiden voyage in inverloch the other week and survived 2 big fronts although kite was parked low and at the edge of the window and i was basically cruising dead upwind Also forgot to depower the kite so board skills have also improved. I reckon the top end would be close to 35 so pretty happy with the 9 for the time being, however, lose a bit of the fun factor when your're overpowered.

Will have to come and say hello when you're back on the water. Let me know if you ever get a 7 or 15 or zeph demo in.

i use an 11m c4 in 14 knots, 68kg. would definately go a 13 or 15m c4 for low wind freestyle.
