Hi, I am a Best Rep FYI so take the following as you like.

At 70kg probably go a 9m. What size board/s are you on?

On a board like a 133x40 cardboard I reckon you would be going well in about 13/14kts and hold it up to 25-26kts comfortably. Sweet spot about 15-19kts.

A 12 with the same board I reckon about 11/12kts to 18/19kts comfortable with a sweet spot about 13-17kts.

Had alot of hours on both sizes and noticed no wear problems.
There have been a couple of strut bladder small holes due to the bladder not being correctly seated from new.

I am 94kg and ride the 12 in 90% of our conditions (13-30+) with the sweet spot for me about 15-22kts.

I would equate the 9 to be a 7-12m C kite range and the 12 to be a 9-15m C kite range generally speaking.

I'm not a fan of the crossbow (or any of the SLE kites) with the 2:1 pulley type system at the bar. I will probably get flamed here but for me they are sluggish to fly - especially in the bottom of the wind range and don't perform as well for me anyway.(with or without the bridle mod).
So to compare the 12's isn't really fair from me.
If your local spot is mostly 14 or more I would go the 9. If it is
averaging 16 or less most of the time I would go the 12.
Is there anyone near where you are to try them both out?

The 9 and 12 waroo's are absolutely great kites and everyone around here who has one or tried one always has praise for it.
I would get in quick wherever you are though as we are about to cop a price rise in oz.

Really tuff call on the right size for you. What about a 12 with 23/24m lines and then maybe some line extensions for when it's superlight? Could be a good option for you?

yeah given u live in noosa. While you say u get winds 11-25. Its more 15 then 25. Go the 12.

And brownee I wasn't misleading him it was my honest opinion. Get more time on the kites and you will probably realize what I'm saying.
The published windranges are extreme - as with any manufacturer website.
The wind ranges I quoted are realistic.

Oh, and i got the demo kite for brisbane, so id say ive got the oldest one in local area? and its holding up perfectly i got a small hole in the canopy when a stick landed on it but that was my fault... and ive done all kinds of experiments on it including adding 5th lines, bridal mods, pumping it up super hard (even for a waroo) smacking it into the sand mid kiteloop is common, i do the slide selflaunch thing where the kite slides along the sand then flips up and relaunches, this is usually over a few sticks etc and i do this kinda launch probly once a week, ive even flown it with 9m lines All works just fine and not a scratch on it so they are built bloody well

Thats why im slowly going from liquid force kites to Best kites

I can, and have, had the 12 from 12/13 - 35/38kts brownee@best. It is not comfortable - in fact a bit stupid.
The above info was my honest opinion only from alot of hours on the kites and seeing what alot of people around here at that weight ride in.
Sure if its always around 14ish get the 12. If it was always around 18ish get the 9.
The 9 is alot more responsive and way more fun to be on if it's working well - by a mile. Why do you think Best sent 9 demos out all over the world? Because it is the sweetest out of all the sizes.

Incorrect... The majority of the demo kites were 9m as Thats one of the sizes Peter Steiwe starts with given his weight and wind conditions in Brazil.
