Heres a new product from Europe, below is what they say it will do-

Holmenkol - SealnGlide

SealnGlide is the ultimate performance finish, based on "nano" technology, for significantly reducing the friction of sail surfaces, resulting in tangible benefits such as: Faster sail setting - thanks to reduced friction Prevents sail snagging on rigs or fittings Increases cloth stability. Increases the sailcloth tear strength Resistant to sail washing detergents Reduced weight aloft - due to lower water absorption . Used mainly on mainsails, headsails and spinnakers, this unique system offers "nano" technology creating a slippery, water and dirt repellent surface glaze which also gives fungicidal and UV protection . Ideal for recoating spinnakers one bottle will recoat 2 RS800 spinnakers.
This translates to about 8-10 kitesurf kites or about 20 traction kites.

We have a couple of samples and plan to review it soon. Expect it to retail for around $65.

Kites are still developing in design so fast that they are often obsolete before they are worn out. I suppose some people get to use their kites often enough for them to wear out while still a current design.

I wonder how the silicon impregnated cloth used on skiffs with kite chutes would work in a kite?

No we dont sell it PR, dont see that there will be a demand at such pricing for the market in Australia. We do however recommend another product you can get from most boat shops at $20 a bottle which does the same job and has been around for years, used by professional sailboat racers on their sails. We sell loads to windsurfers for treatment on their sails. PM for details if interested.

HorseXXXX, the only reason you don't sell it is because you can't get it. You would sell your own grandma for 20 bucks.
If this other stuff is so good why don't you post the details you snivelling worm?

I saw a guy with that stuff on his kite when it rained on Sunday and I must say that most who saw it were impressed.
